Nirmala High School News

During the assembly on August 31, about 30 students from Nirmala Secondary School in NTR Circle fell ill after being forced to stand in the sun. The students fell ill as a result of being forced to stay in the sun for a long period of time, according to CV Renuka, the district education officer (DEO). The tragedy occurred as a result of a lack of knowledge about the potential health hazards associated with prolonged exposure to the sun. The school management has admitted its error and has given its word that appropriate measures will be taken to prevent similar events from occurring in the future. Additionally, to ensure student safety, they will arrange for indoor gatherings or provide adequate shade.

Assemblies are now held indoors or in shady locations thanks to policies the school administration has put in place to protect the safety of children. A couple of students in the queue of people waiting at the school grounds fainted and complained of headaches and dizziness. Employees at Nirmala High School claimed that during the assembly, a retirement ceremony for teachers, children were asked to wait. Several students collapsed abruptly while complaining of a precarious position.

About 15 students were given ORS and buttermilk after complaining of headache, fever and dizziness. The students and their parents were sent home once they recovered, according to the DEO.
