The National Science and Mathematics Quiz is an annual content-based national-level quiz competition in science and mathematics for Ghana’s senior secondary schools. It has been produced by Primetime Limited, an educational interest public relations and advertising agency, since 1993. The aim of the National Math and Science Competition is to promote the study of science and mathematics and to help students develop rapid thinking. and a probing, scientifically minded ability about the everyday world around them, while fostering a healthy academic rivalry between senior high schools.
NSMQ Central Regional Championship 2023
The contest, originally sponsored by Unilever’s “Brilliant Soap”, is popularly known as “Sparkle” by many who have come through the secondary school system and is one of the few academic events that brings together all of Ghana’s secondary schools. The National Math and Science Contest is the longest running educational program on Ghanaian television. It airs on GTV during the quiz season every Saturday at 11 am and Wednesday at 4 pm. Three schools compete in each contest, and each school is represented by two contestants. Each contest is made up of five rounds.
As the anticipation builds for the 2023 NSMQ Regional Championship, we take a closer look at the fifteen Central Region schools that will be participating in this exciting event.

On July 6, 2023, the 2023 NSMQ Bono/Ahafo Zonal Championship began with twelve exceptional schools vying for the prestigious title. As the competition unfolds, we look forward to the demonstration of teamwork, intellect, and problem-solving skills by these extraordinary students.
