An Ohio mother has been accused of being a serial killer who fatally drugged men to rob them after meeting for sex.
Rebecca Auborn, 33, was charged Wednesday with four counts of murder for fatally drugging “clients” to rob them after having sex in Columbus in the first half of this year, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said.
Auborn was also charged in a fifth attack in December against a man who survived the overdose attempt.
“Don’t buy sex in Ohio; it ruins lives and could cost you yours,” Yost said while emphasizing that detectives suspect there are other victims.
“To me, if you have someone who has a series of murders separated in time, they’re a serial killer,” Yost told the Columbus Dispatch. “We have the same modus operandi here.”
Investigators first became aware of the potential link between the series of overdose deaths when someone left an anonymous tip, the attorney general’s office said.
The Columbus Division of Police and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation were able to connect Auburn “to several overdoses and robberies,” according to the release.
In September, Auborn was charged and pleaded not guilty to murder and drug charges in the January death of one of the men, 30-year-old Joseph Crumpler.

In that case, he even admitted to Columbus police that he had mixed fentanyl into a man’s crack pipe after meeting him for sex, according to court records obtained by the Dispatch.
She reportedly told detectives she knew the man had overdosed, but decided to keep his vehicle and debit card.
Auborn, who has at least one son, as well as a daughter who died in 2016 at just 18 days old, had no criminal record, according to records obtained by the Dispatch.

He now faces four counts of murder, four counts of manslaughter, five counts of aggravated robbery, five counts of felonious assault, five counts of corrupting another person with drugs, one count of tampering with evidence and four counts of drug trafficking, which They are all serious crimes.
Detectives believe there may be more victims, checking records for similar overdose deaths, while appealing to anyone who survived an encounter to come forward without fear of prosecution if they solicited sex.
