Like their parents, bighorn sheep lambs camouflage and blend into their rocky surroundings. These lambs are half the size of an adult bighorn sheep and have shorter wool coats that give them a soft, fluffy appearance. They do not grow horns until they are mature, so don’t make the mistake of looking for the characteristic horns of these animals.
Rather, place your fluffy ears on the top of your head, similar to where a horse’s ears might be. Here’s a tip if you’re still having trouble finding the young sheep: look for darker shades. The colors of baby bighorn sheep vary, and they blend in with the darker tones of their surroundings.
