The leak was reportedly detected off the Pacific coasts of Canada and the United States of America. Experts further state that they have never been seen before. Multiple media reports claim that scientists fear a hole in the 600-mile-long fault line could unleash a destructive earthquake that would wipe out cities across the northwestern United States. Reports indicate that the hot liquid spewed from the hole is located fifty miles off the Oregon coast, on the edge of the dipping fault known as the Cascadia Subduction Zone, which runs from northern California to Canada. . Now this geological feature has the ability to trigger magnitude 9 tremors on the Pacific Northwest side. The report states that this leak was first observed in 2015. However, a new analysis led by the University of Washington (UW) shares that the chemically distinct liquid is something called “defective lubricant.”
