Films
Pankaj started his career with a film called Sookha in 1983. In 1988, he played a supporting role in the film called Mera Suhaag (1987). Some of his other films are Saugandh, Sanam Bewafa, Baadshah, Ikke Pe Ikka and Ashaant. He also made his directorial debut with My Father God Father in 2014.

Pankaj is famous for his role as Karna in the television show Mahabharat directed by BR Chopra in 1988.
