WASHINGTON – Mike Pence says he never used email while vice president, much less accounts registered under pseudonyms like President Biden did, because of the security risk.
“The Internet is never completely secure. I literally never used email when I was vice president,” Pence told John Catsimatidis in an interview Monday night on WABC 770 AM’s “Cats & Cosby Show.”
“So I was surprised by the idea of multiple pseudonymous emails to Joe Biden over the years,” Pence said, referring to the president’s use of multiple email accounts during his eight years as vice president under Barack Obama.
“It is … one more example of everything that is revolving around this administration,” said the former number two of former President Donald Trump, referring to Biden. “Now they are under an ethical cloud with everything that happens around them. [first son] Biden hunter”.

The National Archives and Records Administration recently acknowledged, in response to a Freedom of Information Act request, that it possesses nearly 5,400 emails, electronic records and documents related to accounts registered under Joe Biden’s pseudonyms.
The GOP-controlled House Oversight Committee is seeking access to those records, noting that in at least 10 emails, then-Vice President Biden’s office listed Hunter Biden on his Democratic father’s daily schedules. .
Pence, 64, is vying for the Republican presidential nomination against Biden, 80, in next year’s election, but trails well behind Trump, 77, and other Republican candidates in polls. Pence ranks fifth among Republican contenders with 4.6% support in the RealClearPolitics average of recent polls.
House Republicans could launch an impeachment inquiry against President Biden starting this month. Chairman Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said last week that such an investigation would be “a natural step forward” that “gives Congress the apex of legal power to get all the information it needs.”

Biden’s defenders and the White House insist the president did nothing wrong, but House Republicans point to evidence that he met with his son’s business partners in China, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Russia and Ukraine during his vice presidency.
Additionally, on July 31, there was testimony before Congress from Hunter’s former business partner, Devon Archer, who said that Joe Biden regularly spoke on speakerphone during business meetings.
House Republicans are also investigating what IRS whistleblowers allege was a cover-up in the criminal investigation of the first son for allegedly failing to pay about $2.2 million in federal taxes from 2014 to 2019.

Hunter Biden had accepted a probation plea deal negotiated by Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss’s office, but the deal collapsed in July under scrutiny by a federal judge.
Veteran IRS agents Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler say Weiss’s office prohibited tax investigators from investigating Joe Biden’s role in Hunter’s business dealings, even when the communications directly implicated him, and that U.S. attorneys appointed by Biden blocked charges against the first child in Los Angeles and Washington DC.
Attorney General Merrick Garland elevated Weiss to special counsel on August 11 so that he could pursue charges outside of his district.
Republicans said they feared the move would impede further investigation of foreign businesses.
