Pro-Palestinian Florida student accused of kicking police officer during campus protest

A Florida college student was arrested for allegedly kicking a police officer and elbowing a counterprotester during a pro-Palestinian demonstration on campus, police said.

Sana Abu Mohd, 19, a student at Florida Atlantic University, was charged with assault and battery on a police officer during Wednesday’s protest on the Boca Raton campus, Boca News Now said in a report.

Mohd was part of a pro-Palestinian group on campus when she allegedly elbowed a pro-Israel woman walking past her, while a campus police officer looked on, according to a police report reviewed by the outlet.

“Then I spoke to the lieutenant. [Richard] Jacobson, who stated that during the march he observed Abu Mohd attack [the victim] with an elbow from the Israeli group,” the police report says.

“He then approached Abu Mohd and pulled her away from the march in an attempt to handcuff her and she raised her left leg and kicked him,” the report said.

“Lieutenant. Jacobson then proceeded to open [sic] face down against the ground and temporary restraints were placed on him.”
