‘Pastora Catalina’ is a TikTok account that is responsible for publishing fake news and thanks to that, it has gained popularity on the Chinese social network.
Social networks have become a focus for publishing false information and news and precisely that is what has turned a catracho user into a kind of ‘influencer’ on TikTok.
The TikTok account is called ‘lapastoracatalina0’, however the person in charge of managing the account is not any type of pastor, since it is a young man whose identity is still unknown.
Since his first videos, the Honduran has been responsible for publishing fake news about the deaths of public figures, ranging from people like Nayib Bukele, to influencers like ‘La Veneno’.
Although most of the videos lack reliable information and real sources, there are millions of people who watch the video and thousands more who believe the words narrated by the young man who poses as a Telemundo correspondent.
On the other hand, a large part of the internet community identifies that this is false information and takes it as a joke, something they express in the comments of the hundreds of videos published.
One of the most recent false deaths that have been published are those of the Mexican influencer Marlene Benítez, who has more than 14 million followers across all her social networks.
What is known about Pastor Catalina?
To date, the account is still working and has 549 thousand followers and has accumulated 5.7 million likes with all the videos published.
On some occasions the TikToker posts some videos of himself, either posing in a mirror or showing his face, but these videos do not get the same attention from his followers.
Just like the ‘Pastora’ account, there are hundreds of other accounts on TikTok that share fake news that has not been reported.
