Raima Sen was born on November 7, 1979 in Mumbai Maharashtra. Her parents are the famous actress Moon Moon Sen and Bharat Dev Varma. She is the granddaughter of Suchitra Sen, considered the ace of the Bengali film industry. Raima has a royal background: her father is a member of the Tripura Royal Family and her great-aunt is the Maharani of Jaipur.
Although her name in official documents is Raima Dev Varma, on screen she uses the name Raima Sen, inspired by her mother’s maiden name. She completed her studies from Loreto schools in Calcutta and went on to complete her graduation from the Rani Birla Girls’ College of Calcutta University.

Career
Her acting debut was opposite Shabana Azmi in the film Godmother in 1999, which was a huge success. However, Raima’s talent was somewhat tempered by the presence of the legendary Shabana Azmi in the film. Later, she worked alongside Raveena Tondon in Daman, where her performance was appreciated.
Her big break came through her role in the Bengali film Chokher Bali in 2003 with Aishwarya Rai as her co-star. She rose to fame among audiences and critics with the hit film Parineeta in 2005.
