During his studies he gravitated towards acting and theater art. He came to Mumbai in late 1999 and started working in the television industry. He was seen in small appearances in television shows like Kkusum, Krishna Arjun, Khichdi and Shararat.
Rajesh got his first big break in Sahara One’s most popular TV show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. He was seen in the character of Rosesh Sarabhai alongside actors like Satish Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Rupali Ganguly and Sumeet Raghavan. He later appeared in many comedy-oriented television shows such as Bhootwala Serial, Mrs. & Mr. Sharma Allahabadwale, Chintu Chinki Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story, Excuse Me Madam, etc.
