Rep. Gallagher Sees Red on Satanic Christmas Tree in Wisconsin: ‘Absolutely Crazy’

What the hell is going on in Wisconsin?

Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.) expressed outrage over the Satanic Temple’s Christmas tree display at an annual festival in his hometown of Green Bay.

“It is impossible to overstate how offensive this is to Christians. It would be, in a quite literal sense, the same as waving a Hamas flag inside a synagogue,” Gallagher, 39, told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“It’s absolutely crazy that we allow this to happen.”

The National Railroad Museum, which hosts an annual Christmas tree festival in Ashwaubenon, a Green Bay suburb, allowed the display as one of 66 trees at the event.

The trees will be on display until December 31.

The Satanic Temple tree is covered in blood-red lights that look like demon eyes with a snake-like figure at the bottom.

One ornament reads “Hail Santa,” in an apparent cheeky nod to “Hail Satan.”

While Christians celebrate Christmas as the birth of Jesus Christ, the Satanic Temple largely satirizes religion.

The “worshippers” at the temple are not theists and the group advocates separation of church and state, civil rights and egalitarianism.

The museum’s executive director, Jacqueline Frank, maintained that the group followed its guidelines in not advocating violence and noted that her museum has encouraged diversity.

“There was no doubt. We are not a religious organization. We focus on trains,” Frank said, according to the Green Bay Press Gazette.

“And honestly, the Christmas tree is used by many different secular and religious organizations. “All we’re doing is decorating that room.”

Gallagher, a father of two and chairman of the House China Committee, called the museum’s response “insufficient.”

He explained that the museum often offers a fun screening of the movie “Polar Express” flanked by trains in a “cool” experience for children.

“I wouldn’t take my kids there now. I don’t want them to be surrounded by satanic trees,” she said.

“Conservatives are often accused of launching a culture war or of focusing or obsessing over cultural issues, but this is a perfect example of how that is not what is happening.”

Gallagher also weighed in on the lab in Reedly, California, which was discovered to have secret ties to the Chinese Communist Party.

“According to our research, [the CCP] “I didn’t know it existed until local officials discovered it,” Gallagher said. “We have to do a better job of defending our homeland from a potential attack involving dangerous pathogens.”

The Wisconsin representative went on to sound the alarm about the risk of similar laboratories operating across the country.

“The honest answer is we don’t know,” Gallagher responded when asked how many other labs like that were operating in the US.

“What concerns me in doing this investigation… is that if the FBI director or the president went to the FBI director and said, ‘Hey, we need to find out how many of these we have in the United States,’ I wouldn’t they would do. “I don’t even know where to start,” he said.
