A man in Russia has been arrested for reportedly keeping a woman as a sex slave for 14 years. According to a report from the New York Post, the incident occurred in Chelyabinsk, western Russia.
The woman, now 33 years old, claims she has been held captive since 2009 and subjected to over 1,000 instances of rape, as stated in the report.
Vladimir Cheskidov, a 51-year-old man, is facing serious accusations, including allegedly killing another woman in the same house in 2011.
He was apprehended after a woman, Ekaterina, managed to escape and reported the incident to the police.
Local media reports indicate that Cheskidov’s mother played a crucial role in assisting the woman’s escape from captivity.
The authorities are investigating the case to gather more evidence and shed light on the details surrounding these shocking and disturbing events.
Ekaterina informed the police that she was forced to perform household chores at knifepoint, as reported by the outlet.
Additionally, she revealed that she endured repetitive torture and brutal beatings for minor infractions.
Following her account, the police searched Cheskidov’s one-story house in Smolino village, where they discovered a collection of sex toys, muzzles, and CDs containing pornography.
The evidence found during the search may play a significant role in the ongoing investigation into the alleged heinous acts committed by Cheskidov.
The local branch of Russia’s Investigative Committee verified the discovery of human remains in Cheskidov’s basement. According to statements from the investigating officers, Russia Today reported that Cheskidov met Ekaterina when she was 19 in 2009.
He invited her to his home under the pretext of “drinking alcohol”; instead, he has held her captive there since that day.
In addition to his criminal actions, Cheskidov is dealing with mental illness, which further deteriorated, leading to his hospitalization.
During this time, Ekaterina found an opportunity to escape from the house.
She informed the police that Cheskidov had once brought another woman into the house, and tragically, an altercation between them resulted in the woman’s death in 2011.
According to Ekaterina, Cheskidov stabbed the woman multiple times and used a nail puller to finish her off.
Cheskidov is accused of murder, rape, and kidnapping and is now undergoing treatment at a mental institution. Additionally, the police are closely monitoring him during his time there.
