Who spilled the soup?
Evgenia Belskaia, a Russian actress based in India, was on board the IndiGo flight (6E-2175) from Delhi to Goa. The flight was delayed for 13 hours yesterday at Delhi International Airport, prompting passengers to lash out at the crew and pilots.
Belsakaia explained, “I was flying with his team to Goa from Delhi and arrived early to board the journey, which was due to take off at 7:40 am. The IndiGo team said the flight had been delayed by an hour. It took at least ten hours before they allowed us to get on the plane.
When did the passengers get angry?
“After boarding the plane, we were informed that the trip had been delayed for two hours. The passengers became angry and started questioning the crew and pilot,” he said.
The Russian actress denounced the horrible act of physical aggression but also criticized the pilot for exacerbating the situation.
What did the pilot say to the passengers?
“The pilot came and said they were asking too many questions and we lost our turn because of it.” According to a witness, “the pilot blamed the passengers for the delay.”
Belsakaia’s popular video shows a man in a yellow sweatshirt running from the back row and punching Anup Kumar, the flight’s co-pilot, who was announcing a new delay.
The accused’s name is Sahil Kataria. “It’s terrible to attack the pilot, yet why does he blame the passengers? Everyone was nervous and instead of helping them, they made things worse,” Evgenia stated in her video message.
The accused, Sahil Kataria, tried to hit the co-pilot, Anup Kumar, and the cabin crew rushed to help the pilot and told the accused: “You can’t do this… you can’t do this!”
Kataria responded, “Why can’t I do this?” Because I can not? The accused said, “Chalana hai to chala, warna gate khol” (fly if you wish, otherwise open the gate), after assaulting Kumar.
How is the situation now?
The pilot has filed a complaint against him and the airline is about to open a formal case. The pilot later apologized to the pilot on the tarmac after getting off the plane and said, “Sir, I’m sorry,” to which the captain responded, “No, I’m sorry, you raised your hands on me.”
