Sabyu is an American singer, songwriter, producer, engineer, artist mentor, and multi-instrumentalist. He is best known for representing the Northern Mariana Islands on NBC’s reality singing show America Song Contest. The show is hosted by Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg. He is originally from Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands.
Biography
Sabyu was born in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. He began learning to play guitar at the age of 12 and eventually learned other instruments, such as drums, ukulele, bass, and piano. He specialized in Ethnomusicology at the University of Washington.
In college, Sabyu became a certified audio engineer, giving him stronger skills in music production. He discovered grunge, rock, hip-hop, R&B, folk, rap, metal, jazz, country and everything in between. Sabyu released his first EP in 2016. Later, his passion led him to concerts and professional jobs. In 2022 he participated as a contestant in the American Song Contest.
