A San Antonio man allegedly slit a woman’s throat and “left her for dead wrapped in plastic” in a Texas field on Friday while still wearing an ankle monitor, the sheriff’s office said.

Roger Gonzalez, 31, was arrested at a San Antonio home a day after he allegedly beat and stabbed the victim during the brutal assault Friday afternoon, according to the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office.

“She was left for dead wrapped in plastic in a pasture,” the sheriff’s office said.

Fortunately, authorities found the woman still alive on the side of the road hours later. She was listed in serious but stable condition.

Gonzalez was allegedly wearing the ankle monitor during the disturbing assault, the Atascosa Sheriff’s Office said.

He was charged with first-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony. A justice of the peace increased his bond from $40,000 to $275,000.

He remains in the county jail in lieu of bond, authorities said.
