‘Selfless’ father of six collapses and dies while transferring son to Arkansas State University

A beloved father of six died suddenly after collapsing to the floor while helping move his son into a dormitory at Arkansas State University over the weekend.

Jeremy Tillman, 45, of Russellville, Arkansas, suffered a “very sudden medical event” at the university around 10 a.m. Saturday, his fiancée, Elizabeth Goodson, 39, told KARK.

“He walked through the door and was obviously distraught,” said Goodson, 39. “I guess he may have tried too hard.”

Tillman was helping his son, Jace Tillman, move his belongings to campus before the fall semester.

The car dealership employee was found not breathing on the ground with foam “coming out” of his mouth, Today reported. Emergency services performed CPR on Tillman and used a defibrillator to restart his heart.

He was taken to St. Bernards Medical Center, where he died.

“Jeremy was a supportive father,” Goodson told Today. “Despite working full and part-time from home, he rarely missed important events and always made time for movie nights, backyard soccer, or pull-up competitions. “He was selfless and always worked hard to ensure that everyone had the things they wanted and needed, often to his own detriment. He loved all of our children and was the epitome of what a man and father should be.”

Tillman’s daughter, Hannah Brazil, took to Facebook to write a touching tribute to her father, saying: “Our father was a highly respected and loving man who always put his family first and never failed to put a smile on his face. face of all the people with whom he interacted. with.”
