‘Selfless’ father of six collapses and dies while transferring son to Arkansas State University

A beloved father of six died suddenly after collapsing to the floor while helping move his son into a dormitory at Arkansas State University over the weekend.

Jeremy Tillman, 45, of Russellville, Arkansas, suffered a “very sudden medical event” at the university around 10 a.m. Saturday, his fiancée, Elizabeth Goodson, 39, told KARK.

“He walked through the door and was obviously distraught,” said Goodson, 39. “I guess he may have tried too hard.”

Tillman was helping his son, Jace Tillman, move his belongings to campus before the fall semester.

The car dealership employee was found not breathing on the ground with foam “coming out” of his mouth, Today reported. Emergency services performed CPR on Tillman and used a defibrillator to restart his heart.

He was taken to St. Bernards Medical Center, where he died.
