Shocking video shows tech CEO falling to death during grand stage entrance at company party

A day of celebration quickly turned into a horror show when a technology CEO fell 15 feet to his death in an onstage accident in front of horrified employees in India.

Vistex CEO Sanjay Shah and Vistex Chairman Vishwanath Raju Datla were inside an iron cage they were lowering onto a stage as part of their grand entrance to a company party when a cable broke, reported the Times of India.

Shocking video showed the moment the yellow cage floating near the rafters began to sway as fireworks exploded and a voice implored the crowd to “put their hands together” for the couple.

The cage then quickly fell to the side, sending the two bosses of the Illinois-based company 15 feet off the ground, about a one-story drop.

One of the men completely overturned and landed head-first on the ground, as the video shows.

Shah died in the accident. Datla was left in critical condition.

Although the cause was attributed to a broken cable, authorities are investigating the incident and the defective cage, which was dragged by a rolling machine and had iron wires and grates.

Shah and Datla were in India to celebrate Vistex Asia’s silver jubilee, which was held over two days at the famous Ramoji Film City.

“Lowering Shah and Raju from the cage onto the stage was a planned event to kick off the celebrations,” a company official told the outlet.

Vistex, founded by Shah in 1999, is an advisory services company with more than 20 global offices and a significant client list that includes GM, Yamaha, Coca-Cola and more.

He then donated $5 million to establish the Vistex Institute for Executive Education at the school in 2017.

Shah was a philanthropist who also established the Vistex Foundation, which provides grants to nonprofit organizations focusing on health, education and basic needs programming.

In 2020, it opened Vistex Hospital in Bihar, India, which was recognized as a national COVID-19 model center.
