Skydiver dies after landing in Florida home’s yard: officials

A man died Saturday in a skydiving accident in Florida.

He was found using skydiving gear on the lawn of a home in the coastal town of Titusville, east of Orlando.

The residence where the man was found and pronounced dead at the scene is just a block from Arthur Dunn Airpark, a public airport where several skydiving centers are also located.

Titusville police detectives believe the man was skydiving alone, but have not released any further information. The investigation is ongoing, the department said in a news release.

The Titusville Fire Department first posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, about the incident.

Brevard County Fire Rescue was also on scene and an initial request for a helicopter was canceled. according to X updates.

In 2020, two skydivers who had taken off from Dunn Airport were seriously injured after an apparent parachute malfunction, authorities said at the time.

The video showed the two men in free fall, spiraling as they fell to the ground before hitting a tree and landing in the yard of another nearby home.
