An Army National Guardsman who made it popular on TikTok by joking about GenZ-ers on the battlefield now wants to give up his military goals for a life in the spotlight. When Anthony Gonzales, 21, is not doing his duties as a petroleum supply specialist at Fort Chaffee, a US National Guard training center in Arkansas about three hours west of Little Rock, he kills time by filming himself being “dramatic” in the field. “Are we being attacked?” Oh, that’s not my thing, you understand? In one video, he jokes, “Hey, Siri, call an Uber.” “Then he removed his mask, and he wasn’t cute.” “So I shot him,” he goes on.

The gimmick worked, gaining the budding social media celebrity over 367,000 followers and brand deals with booze and swimwear businesses.

Gonzales said he earns up to $1,500 from TikTok for each video he uploads.

Gonzales was shocked when his first Army-themed TikTok went viral in August 2021, garnering more than 22 million views and 5 million likes, and that his lifelong desire to become famous was within reach.
