Sonalee Kulkarni is an Indian actress who works in the Hindi and Marathi film industry. She is best known for Ella Lavani Apsara Aali’s dance number in the Marathi film Natarang. She sonalee made her film debut in Kedar Shinde’s Bakula Namdeo Ghotale, for which she won the Zee Gaurav Puraskar Award for Best Actress. In 2014, she co-starred in Mitwaa with Swapnil Joshi and Prarthana Behere, for which she received a Zee Gaurav Puraskar nomination for Best Actress.
Birth and early life
Sonalee Kulkarni was born on May 18, 1988 in Khadki Military Cantonment near Pune, Maharashtra to Manohar and Savinder Kulkarni. Her father is a retired military doctor who worked at the Army Medical Center for 30 years. Her mother worked for COD on Dehu Road. Sonalee has a younger brother who runs the events company Fledgers.
Sonalee attended the Army School and Kendriya Vidyalaya 1 before graduating from Fergusson College in Pune with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and media. She also has a postgraduate degree in public communication from the Indira School of Communication.

Career
Sonalee was cast as a Katthak dancer in the Marathi soap opera Ha Khel Sanchitacha alongside famous Marathi actor Vikram Gokhle. While she was filming, she was offered her first Marathi film, Gadhvache Lagna, in which she featured a song from Indra Darbari Nache Sundari. She was later cast in the role of the lead actress in Kedar Shinde’s Bakula Namdeo Ghotale.
In 2010, Sonalee appeared in the film Natarang, directed by Ravi Jadhav. The film was a huge success and received positive response from the audience. She played Nayana Kolhapurkarin, the lead dancer of a theater group. Sonalee appeared in the critically acclaimed film Ajintha as well as another multi-starrer film, Kshanbhar Vishranti, with Bharat Jadhav, Hemant Dhome, Sachit Patil and Manva Naik. Consequently, she got the opportunity to play an important role in the Bollwood film Grand Masti, Singham Returns, Poshter Girl, Classmates, Timepass 2, etc.
