An attempted robbery at a marijuana store in Washington state was stopped after the owner of a nearby business confronted the robbers and sprayed one of the suspects with bear spray, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office .
Officers responded to a robbery at a marijuana store in Evertt around 3 a.m. Monday.
Surveillance video showed three Kias pulling into the store’s parking lot.
The driver of one of the vehicles tried to break into the business by ramming the side of the premises.
According to officials, a man who works at a business behind the marijuana store heard the disturbance and discovered the robbery in progress and used bear spray on at least one of the suspects.
The owner of the marijuana store, Marijuana 99, told Fox 13 Seattle that he is also armed with bear spray and has had to use it before, but this was the first time his business was affected during an attempted heist.
Officers added that the vehicles involved in the attempted robbery are believed to have also been stolen.
