Striking infrared video taken from the overrun southern border shows dozens of migrants jumping the wall and running toward San Diego, as the United States sets a grim new record for illegal crossings this week.

The images come after the United States set a new single-day record on Tuesday, with more than 12,000 migrants crossing the southern border into the country.

Of those, more than 10,200 were detained by Customs and Border Protection, according to Fox News.

As of Wednesday morning, CBP had more than 22,000 immigrants detained at various border crossings, stretching its already scarce resources to the limit.
