Tanya began her career with the family sports drama film Chak De! India as Balbir Kaur in 2007. She was part of the musical comedy-drama film Love Yoou Soniye in 2013. From 2011 to 2016, she appeared in the family comedy television series Best of Luck Nikki as Pam. Tanya played the role of Inspector Jaywanti Shinde in Sony TV’s crime drama mystery show CID from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, she acted in the thriller film Aatishbaazi Ishq. She played the role of PSI Peetal Devi in the 2020 horror thriller film Durgamati: The Myth.
