A group of teenagers were caught on camera allegedly trying out dark blackface makeup inside a Boston Sephora, and one employee criticized her companion for the “incredibly offensive” act.
The group of three girls were seen in a viral TikTok video trying out the makeup testers at the Sephora store in Prudential Center, and two of them covered their faces in cosmetics intended for darker skin tones.
Temi Ojora, a University of Southern California track athlete who filmed the girls in the now-private video, described the scene as “genuinely so disgusting.”[ing] and bother[ing].”
“This group of teenagers and their mothers walk in and go to the makeup section to use the samples to put on their blackface while laughing and making animal sounds,” Ojora wrote.
“This is what ruins jobs, college acceptances, let alone how incredibly offensive it is,” the employee says.

The companion leaves and appears to fire the employee. Ojora claimed that after her, the companion and one of the girls confronted her and asked her to delete the video of her.
The adult companion and the three girls have not been publicly identified.
Sephora condemned the group’s behavior, noting that they were told to leave the store because of their intolerable behavior.

“We are extremely disappointed by the behavior of these shoppers at our Prudential Center location and, as such, they were asked to leave our premises,” the company said in a statement. “Under no circumstances is this type of behavior tolerated at Sephora.”
The Boston store did not immediately respond to the Post’s request for comment.
The incident in Boston comes amid the “Sephora kids” craze on TikTok that captures teens and tweens looting beauty stores and intimidating staff members with “mean girl antics.”
Employees at beauty chains have also spoken out about their treatment of young customers, accusing them of deliberately spoiling stores and makeup displays.
