When the team decided they wanted a scene in ‘Across the Spider-Verse’ set in a LEGO universe, they decided to contact Mutanga. Miller told The Times: “We found out it was a 14-year-old boy who did it and we said, ‘This looks incredibly sophisticated for someone who isn’t an adult and a non-professional to have done it.”
He added: “It blew us all away, including some of the best animators in the world.” The boy worked on the film remotely while he was still in Canada and received frequent checks and feedback from Miller.
Mutanga shared, “I adored the first movie and was so excited for the second one, so working with the people who really made this masterpiece was honestly like a dream.”
