The sight of the brown ice cream presented in a bathroom-themed dish has sparked both laughter and disgust, as evidenced by a viral TikTok video that has taken social media by storm.
In a viral clip from Gordos, a restaurant in Holon, just south of Tel Aviv, Israel, cringe-worthy video shows a waiter handing out a porcelain toilet-shaped plate to a group of diners.
The waiter then lifts the lid of the dresser, revealing a spectacle of chocolate ice cream (or perhaps dulce de leche?) artfully arranged within the bowl, resembling the aftermath of an unpleasant gastrointestinal event.
Surprisingly unfazed by ice cream’s imitation of something far less appetizing, diners enthusiastically dip their spoons into the dessert, playfully sipping the concoction as they share laughter. As for the origin of this peculiar culinary creation, its inspiration remains uncertain.
In short, the source of inspiration for this strange dessert remains a mystery. Some think it could represent a Dada-esque commentary on the future of gastronomy, suggesting that it all ends in the bathroom, like Marcel Duchamp’s unique “Fountain” artwork from 1917.
