The New Jersey crab predicts the Kansas City Chiefs will win the Super Bowl

Bettors will be pinching themselves at this fantastic Super Bowl pick!

Las Vegas likes the San Francisco 49ers, but a New Jersey betting crab is interested in the Kansas City Chiefs.

The mysterious and anonymous nine-spined spider crab at Sea Life Aquarium at American Dream Mall, East Rutherford, wandered in its tank this week toward the red and white helmet of the Taylor Swift-backed team.

No matter which team wins, the result will cause the crab to come out of its shell and get a name.

If the Chiefs are victorious, the crustacean will be named Patrick, after superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

A win in San Francisco means the Crab will always be known as Brock in honor of the 49ers’ Cinderella second-year starting quarterback, Brock Purdy.

The decision to name the crab after the winning quarterback “is due to its strong connection to the selections from the Jets and Giants football games this season,” said Sea Life marketing manager Abhiruchi Jain.

The 2-year-old crab, which was found in Shark River in Monmouth County, made headlines this season by picking up Jets and Giants games that were documented on the Sea Life Instagram.

It has a 67% success rate in predicting winners, Jain said.

The crab even predicted a shocking upset: Gang Green’s victory over the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles on October 15.
