This is your chance to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Milky Way through the lens of the world’s best astrophotographers. These images have been submitted for the highly anticipated Milky Way Photographer of the Year contest, and the results are finally in.
There were several astrophotographers who showed impressive images captured from various corners of the world. The enchanting views were captured from all over the world, from places like Socotra, Madagascar, Atacama and Namibia to Patagonia, Australia and New Zealand.
The results of the competition were announced on the official website, Capture the Atlas. The site also shared fascinating images from the performances, which shocked anyone who came across the site’s official Twitter account.

The photographs feature Benjamin Barakat’s captivating artwork titled “The Bottle Tree Portal”, transporting viewers into the mesmerizing beauty of Socotra. In this snapshot, century-old trees gracefully intertwine with vibrant pink blossoms, evoking an enchanting mood under expansive starlit skies.
In another impressive image, Gonzalo Javier Santile presents “Cafayate Star Factory”, inviting us to witness a heavenly ballet over Cafayate Salta in Argentina. Lastly, Pablo Ruiz García’s composition “El valle de los cacti” transports us to the majestic Atacama Desert in Chile, where the iconic cacti stand proud against a backdrop of captivating nebulae, creating a truly magnificent sight.
Mihail Minkov’s masterpiece “Eyes of the Universe” provides a captivating glimpse of cosmic wonders over Bulgaria, beautifully portraying the deep link between our terrestrial presence and the limitless expanse of space. Equally fascinating, Marcin Zając’s “Forest Alien” transports us to the mystical Mono Lake in California, where ethereal structures coexist harmoniously with the ethereal glow of the Milky Way, instilling a profound sense of wonder and curiosity.
