‘They don’t want to go back’: mother brought her children for a trip to Honduras and this happened

Kathleen is a catracha who has lived in the United States for 14 years, where she started her family and is now the mother of two boys and a girl.

Last year the young woman returned to Honduras for the first time, but it was not until 2023 that she managed to bring her three little ones so they could get to know the land where she was born.

“My children don’t want to come home. They say Honduras is their home,” can be read in one of the clips she shared on October 8 on her TikTok, @kath.leen22.

The images show how those born in the United States enjoyed various activities in San Pedro Sula, Cortés, and were even taught how to wash in a sink.

“Definitely – the vacations – were used as they should,” he says in another clip where you can see how they rode in the car pool, something they had never done in their native country.

The young woman, who is proud to be from Honduras, has received comments such as: “you can’t experience that adrenaline of riding a paila in the USA”; “The children definitely love coming to Honduras” and “it’s great that you show them their roots.”

Migration risks

People who undertake the so-called ‘migrant path’ face risks such as being kidnapped by criminal gangs in Mexico, dying by drowning in the Rio Grande or dying from heat in the desert.

Likewise, many of those who try to reach the United States by boarding the train called ‘the beast’, which goes from Guatemala to the United States, end up mutilated or dead.

While those who manage to reach US soil run the risk of being deported and being denied entry again, leaving their families behind.
