Riders on a roller coaster at Universal Studios Florida theme park in Orlando were trapped for nearly an hour in an upright position on Thanksgiving night.
The Orlando Fire Department told FOX 35 the incident occurred on the park’s Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster Thursday night and said there were no injuries.
Riders on the Rip Ride Rockit ride up a 167-foot-tall vertical elevator, then perform several twists, turns and turns.
Dennis Malesky, who was at the park, said he saw people stuck upright during the ride.
“We were leaving the park when it was closing time and saw a group of people taking pictures of the Rip Ride Rockit. That seemed a little strange until we looked up and saw the group trapped in the ride,” Malesky said. “Shortly after, the Fire Department arrived, but it seemed like nothing was happening.
“Universal employees made everyone who didn’t know anyone on the trip leave, since it was long after closing. As we got out, we saw the car finally moving. “They must have been up there for an hour.”
After seeing what happened, Malesky said he will avoid the trip in the future.

“This is the only attraction in the park that I haven’t done yet and, needless to say, it will probably stay that way,” Malesky said.
In one video, a woman can be heard saying: “They are stuck up there, at the top. “They are literally on their backs right now.”
Universal Studios did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
