Fight between KCR’s party MLA and BJP leader

Telangana is approaching elections and the political fervor is palpable. To win over voters, the opposing parties intensified their attacks on each other. In the state where politicians overreached, unpleasant situations are also occurring in a politically sensitive environment. In a recent incident, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Srisailam Gaur was grabbed by the throat by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA KP Vivekananda during an open discussion organized by a Telugu television station.

Party MLA KCR and the BJP politician got into a fight when the latter did not answer any of the questions. With five states scheduled to hold elections starting Nov. 7, leaders of the major parties have stepped up their campaign. Meanwhile, a fight between a BRS MLA and his BJP opponent during an open discussion organized by a Telugu television station resulted in violence in Telangana. Additionally, a video of the incident has become very popular. In the footage you can see police and others interfering to keep the two leaders apart. Union minister and BJP state president G Kishan Reddy alleged that BRS MLA from Hyderabad constituency KP Vivekanand, which is part of Quthbullapur, had attacked BJP candidate Kuna Srisailam Goud because the latter could not answer the first question.

In a formal statement, Reddy added that the attack on Goud by Vivekanand, who held his throat, was a timid move and that the BJP would file a case against the BRS MLA if the BRS MLA was not found guilty. Regarding the same, BRS spokesperson Sravan Dasoju stated that Goud was referring to the BRS MLA’s father, although both were expected to behave appropriately and courteously throughout the discussion. While Srisailam Goud was previously a politician, Vivekanand is currently serving as an MLA. “Both should have respected propriety and decorum,” in addition to acting with restraint.
