watchGPT brings popular AI-powered chatbot to Apple Watch

Listen to the Podcast:

That didn’t take long. A third-party developer brought the technology to the Apple Watch just three months after OpenAI introduced a free online version of its AI-based chatbot.

Although some people use ChatGPT a lot, its website is still the only official way to access it. And whenever you want to use the AI chatbot, you have to open your browser and type the web address in the address bar. This is not very organized.

But a new tool makes this process much easier for Apple Watch users. The Apple App Store now has a new app called watchGPT that allows you to use ChatGPT right from your wrist.

The $4 software, watchGPT, allows users to interact directly with ChatGPT from the screen. According to the description on the App Store, users can also share watchGPT responses via text messages, email, and social media.

It is now available in English, Dutch, French and Spanish.

“Hello to a new tiny assistant right on your wrist,” tweeted watchGPT developer Hidde van der Ploeg.

Van der Ploeg stated on Twitter that he will most likely add more features in the future. These features include the ability to use API keys (passwords used by programmers to write code), view the history of your ChatGPT interactions, and instruct the software to read your responses aloud.

The app currently only supports smartphones running iOS 13.0 or later. The file is 2.6 MB in size.

When OpenAI released ChatGPT on November 30, it had a global impact. Public relations professionals and college students tasked with writing essays have already embraced it. According to Wired, the utility has also sparked a gold rush in AI technology.
