A TikTok user, identified as Kevin, shared a video where he shares his love for Honduras with his colleagues in the United States.
According to his profile, the catracho studies and lives in the United States, and in his school he has classmates of various nationalities, so he wanted to teach them some regionalism from Honduras.
With a flag of the country and in the school hallways, Kevin recorded each of his classmates, first saying his nationality and then a phrase, which is common to hear among Hondurans.
From Colombians to Puerto Ricans, they said phrases, which mostly contained the word ‘maje’, which in Honduras is used to refer to ‘friend’.
- I’m Dominican, but what a fart, maje
- Nicaraguan, but what a fart, maje
- Puerto Ricans, but okay pij* maje
- I’m Colombian, but that maje is piss***
- Guatemalan, but it came out ‘guaya’, maje
- I’m Cuban, but I’m rubber
- Salvadoran, but lend me 100 ‘varos’ maje.
The video exceeded 182 thousand views on TikTok and different comments on the publication.
“I’m from Honduras and I love you majes”, “Oh, I loved the Colombian one”, “I’m Honduran but I never say maje to anyone, I failed Honduras”, are some messages.
