The Gujarat Police used paramotoring to conduct aerial reconnaissance in Junagadh, for the first time. Videos of a police officer carrying out aerial surveillance on a paraglider have been leaked on the Internet.
The Gujarat police employed a novel way of monitoring the Lili Parikrama on the Girnar mountain in Junagadh. The annual event began on November 22 and ended on November 27. The Gujarat Police posted a video of the fly-by operation on X (formerly Twitter).
The police department wrote: “Gujarat Police employs paragliders to effectively monitor Lili Parikrama in Junagadh.”
What does the viral video show?
The viral video shows an officer performing an aerial maneuver on his motorized paraglider. The glider has a suitable engine that allows the pilot to navigate in the sky.
The paramotor offers a unique perspective to ensure safety and order among the massive audience that gathers for the precious event. Devotees surround the revered Girnar mountain in Junagadh region during Parikrama.
The pilgrimage falls during the Kartik month of the Hindu calendar, which is November. Lili Parikrama attracts up to 100,000 guests from all over India.

A paramotor is similar to a normal paraglider in that it requires the pilot to take off in the race. Landing and takeoff are usually carried out in open places. Police officers in Gujarat have received proper training to use the equipment safely.
How did the Internet react?
However, social media users were unhappy with the attitude of the Gujarat Police and expressed their displeasure in the comments section. They urged authorities to use drones instead of paragliding as it could be “risky.”
