According to recent reports, the Meta-owned social messaging service WhatsApp is hard at work developing a new feature for its desktop users.
WhatsApp desktop users will soon be able to exchange photos and videos in the same high-quality format in which they were originally captured. A WaBetaInfo report claims that the functionality is currently being worked on in the background.

The report states that users will be able to email photos in their original quality, while maintaining both their resolution and clarity, thanks to the new feature, which the report illustrates with a screenshot of the feature. WhatsApp users will soon be able to transfer media without having to worry about image quality or resolution degrading as a result of the new functionality.
According to the source, once this capability is made available to beta testers, users will still be able to share photos using the approach that is considered the industry standard for compression. Those looking to minimize the amount of space their belongings take up will find this beneficial. The report indicates that it will always be the option that is selected by default.
The option to send photos in their original quality is currently being developed and will be available in a future app update. This ability was discussed above.
Meanwhile, Meta-owned WhatsApp is in the process of rolling out a number of new features, one of which will allow users to share voice messages about their status. After it’s been shared, the ring will appear around profile photos in the chat list, as well as in other locations. Because the program developed by the company owned by Meta now includes new status reactions, users can show their friends and family exactly how they feel at the touch of a button.
