WhatsApp presents its own tool to create stickers

Stickers in WhatsApp can be a fun way to talk, but there’s no way to make one in the app.

To fix this, the Meta-owned messaging app is now testing a tool that allows people to make their own stickers. This will eliminate the need to use stickers from third party sites. This is what you need to know.

WhatsApp has released version 23.10.0.74 of its iOS test update, which includes the sticker maker tool. According to a report by WABetaInfo, there will be an option for “New Label” on the chat share sheet of a specific chat.

This option will use the API in iOS 16, which basically allows you to copy and paste the subject of an image somewhere else. With the same characteristics, a WhatsApp logo will be created. This, along with some changeable tools (like the ability to get rid of the background), will allow you to make the perfect sticker you want. A screenshot of the feature in use has been shared. You can see it here.

It is being tested as part of WhatsApp for iOS, but could soon be added for Android users as well. To remind you, the PC and web versions of WhatsApp already have a similar feature. In WhatsApp app builds, there are a number of sticker packs available, but you still can’t create your own.

Still, there is no word on when the WhatsApp sticker maker tool will go official for users. Since it is in the testing process, we can expect the news to come out very soon.

At the same time, WhatsApp is also attempting a redesign for Android based on the one for iOS. We can expect a new navigation bar at the bottom (the current one is at the top) and a new dropdown menu for messages with options like Delete, Forward, Reply, Keep, and Info.
