Savion Jabriel Wright, better known as Noivas, is an American singer and songwriter. He is best known for participating in the NBC reality television singing show, The Voice, season 23. He also appeared on season 13 of American Idol in 2014 and season 14 of American Idol in 2015.
Birth and early life
Noivas Wright was born on March 12, 1992 in Galveston, Texas, to Rosalind and Douglas Wright, Sr. ((Instgram)) His real name is Savion Jabriel Wright.
From the age of six, Noivas began receiving bass lessons from his older brother.
His musical talents developed further when he began singing solos at his father’s church in his hometown of Jasper at the age of 12. However, his passion for instrumentation was so great that he stopped singing for a while, until at the age of 12. On December 14 she sang Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come” for his father, an experience that rekindled his love of vocalizing.
He completed his Bachelor of Arts at Baylor University and graduated in 2015.

Noivas’ father grew up in Jim Crow Mississippi (Hickory, MS) and was the first black child to go to an all-white school in 1965. He endured legalized violence and intimidation, BUT made it out alive. Noivas chose him as the family representative in a blind voice audition. He said that,
“I wouldn’t be here without him and his sayings that have made me the man I am today. So he will be one of the people I honor with my performance. “I can’t wait until everyone can hear his incredible story.”

He is the youngest of five children raised on a ranch in Jasper, Texas. He has an older sister named Kassilia J. Wright.

Noivas is married to Elissa Henry. The couple also had two daughters, Bella and Ira, in 2021 and 2022.

Career
Noivas competed twice on FOX’s American Idol, reaching the Top 48 in 2014 and the Top 24 in 2015.
In 2015, the artist released an EP titled “Breathing Underwater,” in honor of his brother Alfred Wright. It reached number 40 on the iTunes Top 100 chart.
Following her final elimination from Idol, Noivas embarked on a tour across the US, performing over 180 shows from California to Florida and as far as upstate New York.
In 2017, after concluding a short tour, he wanted to take some time off due to tiredness and fatigue. Thus, he decided to follow in his parents’ footsteps and become an educator; He landed positions in Texas public schools and at a college in the same state.
In 2023, Noivas rose to fame after performing on stage at The Voice 23 as a contestant. She earned four chair turns for her performance in Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come” during The Voice Blind Auditions. The show is directed by Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan.
