Big Scarr, also known as Alexander Woods, was born on April 7, 2000 in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. He originally lived with his grandmother in the Magnolia community, which was in south Memphis. However, unfortunately, when Alexander turned 13, his grandmother passed away and he had to return to his parents.
In an interview, Alexander stated that he was never interested in rapping or bringing in a musician. He didn’t like writing songs when he was a child. However, his friend Baby K was the one who inspired him and made him work for it.
The name Big Scarr came into his life for a reason. When Alexander turned 16, he was driving a car with his friend. But unfortunately, both of them suffered a very tragic accident that left many wounds and scars all over their bodies. Therefore, he decided to keep Big Scarr as his stage name.

After his grandmother died, he returned to live with his parents and siblings. Growing up, she had eight brothers and sisters and loved them dearly. We do not have any information about who her mother was, what her name was or what her profession was.
Our team also couldn’t find the same about his father. But, during a previous interview, when Big Scarr was asked who he is closest to, he answered about his father. Alexander declared to the media that his father is his best friend and that he is the one who trusts him the most. His response moved all his fans around the world. After being inspired by fellow artist named Baby K, he became interested in rapping and songwriting. Finally, in 2019 she released her first song, “Make a Play,” on her YouTube channel. As soon as he uploaded the video, it gained over 50,000 views and caught the attention of many popular YouTubers.
During an interview, Big Scarr recalled how he had spent $20 to record the song and $200 to make the music video so he could upload that worthy video. Then in 2020, he had the opportunity to sign a record label with Atlantic Records. The label he signed was under the supervision of 1017 records by Gucci Mane.
Finally, he gained more popularity when his song “SoIcyBoyz” was released in 2021. This song also featured his cousin Pooh Shiesty and American rapper Foogiano. After seeing the popularity and success of the first song, he released “SoIcyBoyz 2” and “SoIcyBoyz 3”. The Mixtape was reported to be one of Scarr’s best works in which producer Tay Keith appeared in the second and third episodes, while Gucci Mane appears in the third.

Shortly after, on April 16, 2021, Big Scarr’s first mixtape, Big Grim Reaper, sold 22,000 copies in its first week. Statistics showed that his mixtape reached number 25 on the Billboard 200. He released the Big Grim Reaper Deluxe edition of his mixtape in February 2022. Seeing his dedication and talent, he was chosen to be a member of the XXL Freshman class of 2022 in June 2022.
Additionally, he also performed a key freestyle with rappers Nardo Wick, KenTheMan, and Big30. Subsequently, very recently, it was announced that Big Scarr would be a special guest on American rapper Key Glock’s Glockoma Tour in December 2022.
