His family said they were shocked by his murder and a relative said Jabulani Gumbi had received death threats in connection with a land development dispute earlier this month. Brig Sanata Mokgwabone, a police spokesman, said an investigation has been launched. A video of Jabulani Gumbi released by his relative shows Jabulani Gumbi speaking about death threats: “Those who declare war on me and development, get ready, it won’t be easy.
