Paola Linares, a 37-year-old immigrant from Guatemala, was killed and shot in a road rage incident in Hurst, Texas, Monday night. On Monday, July 10, 2023, the shooting occurred around 9 pm while her husband Zane Jones and Paola were in her minivan. Another car almost collided with his minivan, while Jones was driving, prompting Jones to pester the other driver. According to sources, the driver of the other car was also doing the same thing to Jones, but he also had a gun pointed at his car. The driver fired through the latter’s left rear window, hitting Paola.

After the shooting, Jones stopped the car on the right and contacted 911. By the time first responders arrived, it was too late for her. She was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, where she died just after 2 am. Jones claimed that multiple people saw the person and asked them to come forward, while police are still searching for the shooter. Describing the incident, Zane Jones said that she was driving to work at Kelly-Moore Paints. The assailant’s vehicle then followed, and while Jones had completed the pass and moved into the right lane, the other car began sped by. He also added that while turning off the controller. it was something that Paola Linares often told her not to do.
Behind the death of Paola Linares, the police are still working on identifying the attacker. Her husband is really desperate for his wife’s killer to be caught and brought to justice. He pointed out that he needed the shooter to be prosecuted, caught and put in prison. “He needed the shooter to know that he didn’t just fire a gun into a car and that it was the end of it,” Jones said.
Just two years ago, Paola had moved to the US from Guatemala. She made the decision to move so that she and Jones could marry happily ever after. The two had been married for almost a year and a half, and Paola had just received her green card and her license, both of which she was very proud of. As previously stated, police are searching for anyone with details about the driver or car that killed and shot Paola Linares.
