Writtick Chatterjee was born on September 28, 1992 in a Hindu family in Jamtara, a small town located in Ausgram, Bengal. He used to work for Pr. AG Bengal under C&AG. His father, Vijay Chattopadhyay, is a retired teacher and lived in Kolkata for work. His father’s sincere wish is for Writtick to play matches for KKR in the IPL.

Career
Writtick liked to play cricket since childhood. Instead of being the son of a teacher, he used to spend more time playing cricket than studying. When he performed brilliantly in the Ranji Trophy, his family and brothers wanted him to play in the IPL as soon as possible. Writtick played for the Bengal cricket team in First Class and List A.
Writtick made his List A debut in the 2017-18 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 5 February 2018. In December 2017, he scored a double century against Gujarat in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy First Class and in July 2018, Writtick was included in the Indian Red Team in the 2018-19 Duleep Trophy.
