After a couple of delays, the Zandile Gemede corruption trial is now underway and the presiding judge has issued a warning to legal representatives on the matter, suggesting that they should go ahead with the case and not withdraw for non-payment. . Gumede is a former Thekwini mayor who is facing trial along with 21 others for extortion, corruption, fraud and money laundering.
