A man from Bihar’s Nawada district supported his wife to meet and marry her boyfriend in a real-life version of the 1999 hit film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
The woman chose to accompany her lover, which was the only deviation from the film’s plot. A viral video on social media shows the married couple in front of their spouse at a Shiv temple. In it, the woman’s lover is shown applying vermilion (sindoor) on her forehead while she is seen crying excessively.

When the woman went to meet her boyfriend late at night at her house while her husband was at work, the affair was uncovered. Unfortunately, unlike in the past, the couple was arrested by members of their family, who beat the man and imprisoned the two captives.
The villagers were so upset that they asked the couple to leave.
When the woman’s husband returned and discovered what had happened, he took the couple to the temple and married his wife to his lover. Her boyfriend is also married and has three children.
How has it happened before?
When officials were contacted, they stated that they were aware of the incident but that no complaint had yet been filed. In another case, a man from Bihar refused to pay for his wife’s tuition because he feared she might cheat on him.
According to News 18, Pintu Singh, petrol pump manager of Chaugai village in Buxar, Bihar, chose not to support his wife Khushboo Kumari’s preparation for the Bihar Public Service Commission exams. Khushboo then went to Murar police station and lodged a complaint against Pintu.
