32-Year-Old Woman Dies After Being Trapped In Elevator For Three Days

In Tashkent, Uzbekistan, a tragic incident occurred when Olga Leontyeva, a postwoman, was found dead inside an elevator after being trapped there for three days. The absence of rescue attempts during her confinement added to the distressing nature of the event.

According to reports, Olga cried for help from the top floor of a nine-story building, but unfortunately, no one heard her.

Her family reported her missing on July 24 when she didn’t return home from work.

The search tragically ended the next day when her body was found in the elevator. She leaves behind a six-year-old daughter, now under the care of relatives.

The prosecutor’s office is investigating the incident.

They found that the elevator, which was of Chinese manufacture, was in working order but hadn’t been registered.

The Regional Electricity Networks confirmed no power cuts on the day of the incident.

Based on residents’ statements, the tragedy was attributed to an elevator malfunction.

In a similar incident in Palermo, Italy, Francesca Marchione, a 61-year-old woman, was found dead in an elevator during a power cut on July 26. Emergency services arrived but couldn’t rescue her as the elevator was stuck between floors with open doors.
