That original record was later broken by the Belgian housing association Upgrade Estate with 433 couples, so Vapiano strove to regain his crown.

To create a romantic dining experience, the hangar was decorated to look like a restaurant, with tables covered with red tablecloths, which took 20 hours to complete.
A mobile kitchen was brought in to prepare a large quantity of spaghetti.
The rules for setting the record stated that the spaghetti could not be broken while the participants were eating it and had to be devoured within 30 seconds.
