His mother is the founder of the Indian Television Academy. He has an elder sister, Anushka Ranjan Kapoor, who is also an actress by profession.
Kapoor completed his studies from Jamnabai Narsee School. Following his studies, he received an acting diploma from Whistling Woods and then completed a one-year course at the ITA School of Performing Arts. He currently lives in Mumbai.
