Which dish was rated one of the ‘worst foods in the world’?
The fact is that aloo baingan sabzi is the only Indian dish included in the list of the 100 worst rated foods in the world.
What is this list?
Just three days ago, renowned online food portal Taste Atlas published an extensive list of the ‘100 worst-rated foods in the world’. Unfortunately, aloo baingan, a well-known Indian sauce with flavors of potatoes, eggplant, onions, tomatoes, ginger-garlic paste and a combination of spices, made it to the list.
Most people pair this dish with tawa roti, an Indian flatbread, and top it with fresh coriander leaves. Despite its obvious appeal to desis, aloo baingan only scored 2.7 out of 5 on the list.
Meanwhile, the Icelandic dish ‘Hakarl’, made with fermented shark meat, was voted ‘worst’. It is served with a “Brennan”, a native drink, on a toothpick. Travelers often have difficulty consuming it due to its high level of ammonia, which can cause suffocation, although Icelanders consider it a delicacy.
