American teen stabbed to death during dispute over sweet and sour sauce at McDonald’s

In a tragic incident, a 16-year-old girl named Naima Liggon was fatally stabbed by another 16-year-old boy during a fight over sweet and sour sauce at a McDonald’s in Washington, DC.

The deadly altercation took place around 2 a.m. Saturday, The Washington Post reported.

According to a New York Post report, the sad passing of Naima Liggon marks the 13th case this year that someone under the age of 18 has died in the state.

The person who stabbed her is facing second-degree murder and is in custody without bail.

The growing number of crimes involving youth in the city has dramatically worried the mayor, who has called it an emergency.

“At the end of the day, someone is dead over a dispute over sauce.” DC Superior Court Judge Sherri Beatty-Arthur said in ordering the suspect to be held until another hearing on Friday.

According to a New York Post report, the stabbing occurred after an argument between Naima and another girl.

Detective Brendan Jasper testified in court, explaining that the 16-year-old attacker “pounced” on the other two girls as they tried to get into a vehicle.

Detective Brendan Jasper testified that the person charged with the crime allegedly used a 7 1/2-inch knife to stab Naima in the chest and abdomen.

Despite being taken to the hospital, Naima could not be saved.

As mentioned in the Post report, Naima’s death occurred just a day before she was due to return to Thomas Stone High School after summer break. When the police arrested the person responsible for the stabbing, they found the knife in his possession.

The identity of the attacker has not been revealed, according to the Metropolitan Police.
