Following his expressed desire to visit, Anand Mahindra finally recounted his experience crossing Atal Setu in Mumbai.
The Mahindra group chairman uploaded a video on the X platform, documenting his trip. Since its inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 12, Atal Setu, India’s longest sea bridge, has remained a testament to remarkable engineering.
Mahindra recently took to social media to share his impressions of traversing Atal Setu. She compared the fluid passage over the bridge to “gliding on water,” similar to riding a hovercraft.
His journey, part of a journey to and from Pune during the day, conveyed his excitement about embarking on another journey across the bridge, perhaps to admire its beauty at dusk.

“I finally got the chance to drive at Atal Setu last weekend and I must say that it is truly a remarkable piece of engineering. The experience is akin to riding on a hovercraft, gliding smoothly over the surface of the water. My journey to and from “Pune was during the day, so I missed the opportunity to witness the magnificent view at dusk, as shown in the viral image on the right,” Mahindra said.
The bridge, which spans a distance of 21.8 km, includes a 16.5 km maritime link segment. Its completion has led to a substantial reduction in travel time between Sewri and Nhava Sheva, reducing it from two hours to just 20 minutes.
